Everything you need before your first assignment.
Pack Test
Required to qualify for wildland fire. Walk 3 miles in 45 minutes carrying a 45 lb pack on flat terrain. Must pass before your first assignment.
Required Footwear
Leather boots, 8" minimum height, Vibram-style lug sole, no steel toe, no synthetic materials. Break them in before your first fire.

- Nomex shirt and pants (issued)
